Trip to Detroit and Canada in January

In January we went for a quick one night trip to Detroit so Tim could go to the Metallica concert. I had bought him tickets for Christmas. We stayed at a REALLY nice Casino on the Canadian side called the Ceasar. We had a great time and wished we could stay longer. Everything seemed cleaner in Canada, and the hotel room was very nice and affordable. We even had valet parking and a big free breakfast with our stay. I took lots of pictures of Detroit, and some of Canada. One thing I'll always remember is how picky they are at customs. We had to have our car searched when we went over into Canada. We thought it would be faster to take a bus to the Metallica concert, but that was a mistake! Our bus waited at the customs line for an HOUR. Everyone had to get off the bus and go through one at a time. Still, we had a great time. We plan to take a few more mini vacations like that through out the year.
